Encore pirates are ready to come back to school in person. This year, Encore's students and teachers will be on campus full time and in person. In junior high, the schedule has been updated to reflect the anticipated need for additional supports in math and English. As a result, junior high students will have 90 minutes of math and 90 minutes of English every school day. This addition to the schedule will help the fantastic teachers at Encore fill gaps.
High School students that have earned a grade less than a "C" during the COVID shutdowns, will be placed into remediation to make up the grades and tutor to help make sure the students can succeed and prepare for life after high school.
During the 21/22 school year, Encore is offering 24/7 tutoring through a service, tutor.com, that is brought to us through Princeton Review. This will allow any student at Encore to get help with their academic homework from a live person, not matter what time it is.
Edgenuity is new curriculum that is being used across most of the academic core subjects. It has been implemented with the correlation of NWEA so Encore's teachers can keep track of individual student progress. This will help teachers identify the achievement gaps of students and they will be able to tailor how they close the achievement gaps.
It is going to be a great year pirates!
