The Encore Unwritten Stories - Alumni

Back in 2007 when the three founders were putting together the charter petition together for Encore High School, there were a lot of things that were never thought of as part of the plan. Like weddings...... When we sat at my kitchen table to discuss the great big plans about building a school for art students that would help open doors and passions, weddings were never a consideration.

Now entering out 13th year of operation, there have been a lot of weddings. Weddings between co-workers and weddings between alumni. As we sat at the wedding of alumni Andrew Miles and Taylor Kitchens over the weekend, we started to count how many weddings have happened that we knew of because people went to high school together. We counted over a dozen. Seeing happy alumni that have been able to fulfill their lifelong dream of finding someone to spend the rest of their life with at Encore is heartwarming.

There are so many things that we just didn't know would be a byproduct of opening a school. The vibe of diversity and tolerance on campus is something that wasn't considered. Nor was the ability to build lifelong friendships for people. Encore never considered families that would move into the area to go to the school because of the opportunities. Encore never thought about helping students visit the beach, Disneyland, or out of town places for the very first time. We never expected that our shows would become date night or that our students would build a fan base. The list continues to grow, but it is so much fun to see how much of an impact, Encore has had on people and families.

We love our alumni.
